MSOA holds sports talent identification in EGH

Tura, April 17: The Meghalaya State Olympic Association (MSOA) in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) on Monday held a Sports Talent Identification at the Loyola College Ground in East Garo Hills where 276 students from four different schools participated.

The talent identification was conducted with the goal to identify the sporting talent of youths of Meghalaya and to develop them into World Class Elite Athletes. The tests included 20M sprint, 10M Speed Ladder Run, Vertical Jump, and Compass Drill.

The program was conducted in the presence of East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Vibhor Agarwal, John F Kharshiing, Working President, Meghalaya State Olympic Association, Babira Momin, District Sports Officer, DSYA, Dipshon Rynthathiang, Chairman, MSOA Podium Finish Committee and Principal of the host college, Fr Sunny Augustine including officials from the Sports Talent Identification team.

While two boys from the college reportedly performed exceptionally well equivalent to internal benchmarks, according to college authorities, it was informed by MSOA President, John F Kharshiing that the final results would be released after analysis in a month and sent to all heads of institutions.
