SHILLONG, April 16: The Voice of the People Party (VPP) will hold the first of its three public rallies at Madan Heh, Mawlai Mawdatbaki, at 2pm on Monday to provide proper and correct perspective to the public on the unjust implementation of the roster system based on the unfair premise of the existing state job reservation policy.
VPP spokesperson Batskhem Myrboh on Sunday said that party president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit and party MLA from Mawlai, Brightstarwell Marbaniang will be the main speakers during the public rally.
The second public rally will be held at Iawmusiang, Jowai, at 12 noon on April 19 while the third one will be organised at Jaiaw at 2 pm on April 20.
Earlier, the VPP spokesperson had said that the party was forced to take the public rally route in view of the apathetic attitude of the MDA 2.0 Government to the request of the party for convening a special session of the Assembly to discuss the burning issue.
He had observed that the adamant attitude of the government shows its disrespect for the Assembly.
