KSU condemns attack on city woman; police say manhunt on

SHILLONG, April 23: Police are making efforts to identify and arrest the attacker of a woman from Umlyngka who was assaulted while she was on her way home from work on April 20.
Police on Sunday said the investigation is on.
On the sidelines, KSU Upper Shillong Circle visited the victim, Batemon Jyrwa, who is undergoing treatment at Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital, Jaiaw, on Saturday. The union has strongly condemned the assault on Jyrwa, while appealing for strict action against the culprit.
“We would not like to see this kind of people residing in our area to ensure the security and safety of our women and young girls,” KSU Upper Shillong Circle president Pynskhemlang Syiem said.
