KSU top guns set to be reelected to CEC

SHILLONG, April 23: Tops guns of the KSU — president Lambokstarwell Marngar, general secretary Donald V Thabah and vice president Biangbor L Paliar — are all set to be re-elected unopposed to the Chief Executive Committee (CEC) of the union during the election scheduled for next month.
The election committee’s general secretary and former KSU president, Samuel B Jyrwa said that the 15th election of the CEC will be held at Dinam Hall, Jaiaw, from 8 am to 3 pm on May 6.
Jyrwa also said that the election committee has completed scrutiny of nomination papers of 15 candidates who will contest for the different posts of the CEC.
The candidates are James Hitler Mawphniang, Reuben A Najiar, Shelkitbok Kharbani and Eddie Malngiang for the post of assistant general secretary; Raymond Kharjana, Gary N Mawlieh and Samuel Shabong for the post of organising secretary; Nangrikupar Malngiang, Richestson Malngiang and Pynkmenlang Samiet for the post of education secretary; and Pynshai Kupar Dkhar, Pynshai Borlang Rani, Sainkupar Syngkli, Melajied Khongbuh and Mekenson Marbaniang for the post of information and publicity secretary.
Others include Alerick Kharjana, Samuel L Nonglait and Spaindarsing Lyngkhoi for the post of office secretary; Badonbok Malngiang, Cleenstar Shabong, Eric A Nongkynrih and Hopefulborn L Mawnai for the post of sports and cultural secretary; and Apporlang Thabah, Badonkupar Kharmalki, Basuklang N Khongwar, Dusterwell Lyngdoh, Franky K Pathaw, Lester Nongbet, Mesadapbor Skhembill and Shiningstar Kharbihkhiew for the post of environment secretary.
