SHILLONG, April 28: Exuding confidence about winning the Sohiong seat, the Congress on Friday said it is ready to spring a surprise in the May 10 Assembly election.
“We are going to repeat the same result like in my constituency of Mawhati since majority of the silent votes will go Congress candidate S. Osborne Kharjana,” said MPCC general secretary and party MLA, Charles Marngar.
Stating that he had managed to win against money power in Mawhati, Marngar said political parties are using all their resources to ensure their victory.
“My experience shows that holding big rallies will not assure your victory. But it is the silent voters who will determine who will win from Sohiong,” the Congress MLA said.
“With five MLAs we have managed to show how we can perform in the Assembly. We can do better if we have one more MLA,” Marngar said.
