SHILLONG, April 29: The economically weak and deprived children of Pynthorumkhrah Nepali LP/UP School on Friday were provided with free study materials by the Meghandini Mahila Samiti during a programme as part of its annual activity.
According to a statement, the programme was also attended by Pynthorumkhrah MLA AL Hek as the chief guest, who, in his address, appealed to one and all to continue lending a helping hand to the needy children.
Citing the example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had gone on to become a global leader despite his childhood struggles, Hek advised the students to believe in themselves and be determined and focused towards their goals.
During the programme, the MLA was also felicitated by the members of the Mahila Samiti as well as the teachers of the school for his victory in the recently concluded Assembly elections.
