Condolence
Members of Laban Sanatan Dharmasabha (Harisabha) conveyed their heartfelt condolences over the demise of Tushar Purkayastha, former secretary and life member of Harisabha temple. Purkayastha passed away in Kolkata on April 28. He was 78. His various contributions for the temple were highlighted following a one-minute silence observed as a mark of respect.

On the eve of Rongali Bihu, a cultural programme ‘BOHAGI 2023’ was organised by Parijaat, Lady Keane College Assamese Students’ Association, Shillong, at Assam Club, Laban, on Saturday. Parijaat was formed in 2022 with the vision to bind the Assamese community through the common threads of its diverse art and culture on a foreign land. Chief guest of the programme was former minister Manas Chaudhuri, while the guests of honour were Mani Ram Borah, Principal of Shillong Vidyalaya and President of Shankardev Cultural Centre, Shillong, and Hasib Hussain, President of Assam Club. Different cultural dances were one of the highlights of the event.

The programme is specially designed for the youths and will explore how our habits can impact our spiritual growth and guide us towards a more fulfilling life.
