Shillong, May 5: An encounter started early morning on Friday after security forces established contact with the terrorists in Kandi area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The terrorists are believed to be armed with AK series rifles and are holed up in a forest area that has been surrounded by Army, CRPF and local police.
On April 20, a group of terrorists had ambushed an Army truck in Poonch district in which five armymen were killed. The terrorists in Rajouri are believed to be a part of the same group behind the attack.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh said that the encounter has started in Rajouri.
