Rajasthan: Man urges women to watch The Kerala Story, assaulted by goons

Shillong, May 8: A man in Rajasthan was attacked when he urged women to watch The Kerala Story – a movie based on conversion of Hindu and Christian girls to Islam by radicals in Southern state of Kerala.

The victim was asking women to watch The Kerala Story on his social media account. Police informed that he had put an appeal on his WhatsApp story asking women to watch the movie.

A man was detained by the police in connection with this incident.

The victim, a Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) member, reported the incident to the Mandir police station, whereupon he filed a FIR against three people.

“The victim informed police that he was on his way home on Saturday night when he was stopped by the three persons, who accused him of insulting their community by praising the movie on his WhatsApp status”, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Derawar Singh.
