Shillong, May 9: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted raids at different locations in Jammu and Kashmir.
The raids are related to a criminal plot devised by terrorist organisations using a variety of pseudo-names, under the directions of their Pakistani commanders and handlers.
The operation is being conducted in the districts of Rajouri, Kishtwar, Kupwara, Poonch, Anantnag, and Srinagar.
Days after five Army jawans lost their lives in an encounter with terrorists in Rajouri district on May 5, the NIA conducted raids.
Five Army soldiers were killed earlier on April 20 in an ambush in the Poonch district. According to defence sources, ultras opened fire on an Army vehicle as it travelled from Bhimber Gali to Sangiot in the Poonch region.
Reports suggest that Border Action Teams (BATs), which include commandos from the Pakistani Army and terrorists notorious for beheading security officers, have been spotted in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).
