Base to be soon laid for Tagore Cultural Centre: Sanbor

SHILLONG, May 10: South Shillong MLA Sanbor Shullai has informed that the foundation stone for Tagore Cultural Centre at Brookside, which was initiated during his tenure as Arts and Culture Minister, will be laid soon.
Addressing a programme to commemorate the 162nd birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore at Brookside Complex Rilbong, Shullai, who was the chief guest, said that the project was sanctioned by the Centre for Rs 13.20 crore.
The programme, which was organised by the Rilbong Sports & Cultural Club in collaboration with Arts & Culture department and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Govt of India, was also attended by North-Eastern Hill University Vice Chancellor Prof. PS Shukla as guest of honour, former Education Minister Manas Chaudhuri, among others.
