Shillong schools take part in science exhibition

SHILLONG, May 20: The third edition of Minds’ Meet, an inter-school science exhibition, was on Friday organised by Army Public School Shillong, which was attended by principals of various Shillong-based schools, eminent educationists, students and their parents.
According to a statement here, a total of 19 teams from various schools participated in the competition where they showcased their innovative science projects on two different themes, viz. Environment and Sustainability, and Technology and Toys.
“The event was judged by Prof Santaram Joshi, Head, Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, NEHU; Prof Soumen Chakraborty of Department of Electronics, St Edmund’s College and Prof Barister Lyngkhoi of Department of Chemistry, St Edmund’s College, Shillong,” the statement said.
It may be mentioned that in the Junior Category, St Edmund’s School bagged the first position, BDW International School bagged the second position and the host school bagged the third position.
On the other hand, in Senior Category, APS Shillong bagged the first position, while St Edmund’s School and Rilbong PN Choudhury School bagged the second and third prizes respectively.
