NONGPOH, May 22: In yet another gruesome case of road accident, a scooterist was killed on the spot after a truck run him over on National Highway-6 near Umran Dairy on Monday evening.
Both the scooty (ML 10 C 8114) and the truck (NL 01 G 6708) were heading towards Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi, when the mishap occurred.
The identity of the deceased was not been disclosed at the time of filing of this report.
It may be noted that the truck driver surrendered himself before Umsning Police Outpost after the accident. Police are now investigating the incident to ascertain the precise cause that led to the demise of the scooterist.
