One terrorist killed in encounter in Rajouri of J&K

Shillong, June 2: During a cordon and search operation in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, security personnel and terrorists engaged in an encounter that resulted in killing of one terrorist. The shooting has ceased for the moment, but the search is still going on.

According to officials, the gunfight started in the Dassal Mehari village region of Rajouri.

Security forces in the Rajouri area of J&K started a huge cordon and search operation in response to a particular input. After midnight, a gunfight broke out between the security forces and the terrorists who were in contact with them.

the Army said in a statement “In a joint operation by Indian Army in coordination with JKP, the intelligence-based ambushes noticed a suspicious movement in forest area of Dassal Gujran (near Rajouri) on the night of 01/02 June 2023. On being challenged by our troops, they were fired upon which was retaliated by our troops. Sporadic firing continued throughout the night”.
