SHILLONG, June 3: Acknowledging that there is room for improvement, GAD Minister Rakkam A Sangma has reminded government employees working in different offices of the state that they have been entrusted their jobs to serve the public.
Speaking to media persons about the poor working culture in the state government offices, the minister said that there are many employees who are committed and enjoy their work. “But often there are problems and limitation and we will definitely take up this issue,” he said.
“‘Service to man is service to God’ should be the mantra of all the government employees,” he said, while adding that it is the responsibility of the government employees to serve people to the best of their capabilities.
The minister asked the government employees to imbibe the quality of hospitality that tribals are known for.
