New Delhi, June 3: Meghalaya has been chosen as one of the best six senior-friendly and memorable destinations for holidays in India by the elders, according to SeniorWorld-Silverwings, a company for group holidays.
Meghalaya, known as the “abode of clouds,” is indeed a senior-friendly destination that offers a unique experience, with Umngot River being a notable highlight, according to the company’s publicity wing.
It meanders through the cleanest village in Asia, Mawlynnong, also known as God’s own garden.
Meghalaya – with its scenic beauty – offers an ideal vacation spot as it combines sightseeing, trekking, adventure, and picturesque views, the company said.
“By venturing to new destinations and immersing themselves in diverse cultures, seniors can experience a revitalising effect on their mental well-being,” it added.
The other places which were selected by SilverWings Holidays as senior friendly places are – Kashmir, Andaman Islands, Kerala, Varanasi and Ladakh.
