SHILLONG, June 14: Setting aside their tiffs, the NPP and UDP — partners in the MDA coalition government in Meghalaya — seem to be building a better relationship with each other now that the general elections are done with.
Although the MDC elections as well as the Lok Sabha elections beckon both the political giants in the state, their ties, insofar as the government formation is concerned, are likely to remain uninfluenced, claims UDP leader and former MLA PT Sawkmie.
He said that the UDP shares a good relationship with the NPP, and that both are matured political parties.
Maintaining that the intention of the UDP and its MDA allies is to do good by the people, he underline that the UDP’s role in this endeavour will be important being the oldest regional party.
