Scholarship for ST students

NONGPOH, June 16: Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner Arpit Upadhyaya has informed that the Ministry of Tribal Affairs has introduced a fully funded central sector scheme to provide scholarships to deserving Scheduled Tribe (ST) students pursuing higher education in India. The scheme comprises two sub-schemes, viz. the National Fellowship Scheme and the National Scholarship Scheme.
While the National Fellowship Scheme aims to offer financial assistance to exceptional ST students pursuing M Phil or PhD, the National Scholarship Scheme encourages talented ST students to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate courses in professional fields, including Management, Medicine/Science, Engineering and Technology, Humanities, Law, and Social Science.
