SHILLONG, June 18: The three-day summer session of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council will begin on Monday.
KHADC Chief Executive Member, Titosstarwell Chyne said on Sunday that Deputy CEM in-charge Finance, Gigur Myrthong will present the full budget of the council for the year 2023-2024 on the first day.
The budget is likely to be passed on the final day of the session on Wednesday.
Chyne said the executive committee will also table the rules which were recently approved for implementation of the KHAD (Regulation and Administration of Land) Act, 2021 which got the assent of the Governor.
He said the executive committee will not be able to reintroduce the Khasi Inheritance of Property Bill, 2021, since the select committee is yet to compile its report after improving the content of the bill by incorporating views and suggestions from stakeholders.
The executive committee had also accepted the recommendations made by the sub-committee led by Lamphrang Blah on how to strengthen the Land department.
