MAWKYRWAT, June 20: Leaders of Nongtnger village under Warsan Lyngdoh, South West Khasi Hills, on Tuesday alleged that the Sordar Elector of Nongtnger village, Kaius Dkhar, had forged the signatures of the members of the Executive Committee of the Dorbar Shnong without their knowledge for the implementation of a scheme.
Speaking to media persons after visiting the Office of the Mawkyrwat BDO, Nongtnger village vice chairman Wohdingbor Marthong, secretary Marlos Nongphlang and Executive Committee member Osdingwell Sangriang claimed that the Sordar drafted the resolution and forged the signatures, so that he would be able to implement by himself schemes worth Rs.8 lakh through Special Rural Works Programme (SRWP) 2022-23.
Marthong said the resolution, which was availed from the BDO office, had nine signatories, including the Executive Members and the Secretary Shnong of Nongtnger.
Marthong added that the people whose signatures were on the resolution had no knowledge about the meeting.
“This resolution is a fake one and was forged by the Sordar alone because among the 9 people whose names were appeared in the resolution as members of the EC, 5 of them were not members of the EC. It seems that all the signatures were forged by the Sordar alone because there are 11 members in the EC of Dorbar Shnong Nongtnger, but none of them has any knowledge about this resolution,” he said.
The village leaders clarified that they were not against developmental schemes reaching their villages, but were against anomalies coming with them.
