KHADC’s new EC to hold first meet today

SHILLONG, June 22: Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) CEM Pyniaid Sing Syiem will on Friday chair the first meeting of the new Executive Committee.
The new EC is expected to discuss the budget for the year 2023-2024, which will be presented during the ongoing summer session of the Council on Saturday.
When contacted, Syiem said he will allot the portfolios to the various Executive Members (EMs) on Friday.
Earlier, the KHADC CEM had said that the new EC will discuss if they can table a few of the bills in the ongoing session.
Meghalaya Governor Phagu Chauhan on Thursday had approved the list of the EMs in the new EC in the KHADC.
The list of the new EMs includes former CEM and Congress MDC Pynshngain N Syiem as the Deputy CEM, Gigur Myrthong, Grace Mary Kharpuri, Macdalyn Sawkmie Mawlong, Rangkynsai Kharbuki, Victor Ranee, Teiborlang Pathaw, Alvin Khyriem Sawkmie, Fantin Joseph Lakadong (all from the NPP) and Carness Sohshang from the Congress.
