Participants perform yoga at NEIGRIHMS

SHILLONG, June 24: More than 60 enthusiastic participants performed yogasanas in unison and rhythm during the International Yoga Day celebration at NEIGRIHMS recently. The event was organised by the Department of Physiology and led by Prof Dr Rituparna Barooah, Head of the Department, who is also an AYUSH-certified Level 3 Yoga Instructor, Trainer, and Evaluator.
The programme was inaugurated with ceremonial lamp lighting and prayer followed by a short welcome address by the Dean (Academics) and Director I/c, Prof GK Medhi.
Prof C Daniala, Medical Superintendent, NEIGRIHMS, and N Tase, Professor-cum-Principal, College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS, also graced the occasion. Healthy snacks and lemon juice were served to the participants after the programme.
