SHILLONG, June 24: The KSU on Saturday announced its resolve to go all out against the menace of drugs and called for coordinated efforts to eradicate the scourge from the state.
“We are talking about drug addiction but why are we not able to eradicate this menace from our society?” KSU president Lambokstarwell Marngar said.
Marngar suggested that the state government should be aggressive in dealing with the problem which is affecting majority of the youth.
He said the Union will work with the Dorbar Shnong, women and youth organisations in various localities to eradicate the menace.
“What is lacking is a commitment from the Secretariat? Till now we have not seen the government coming up with a strong legislation to deal with drugs,” Marngar said.
