TURA, June 25: In a bid to raise awareness against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, the West Garo Hills District Administration has declared Monday as ‘No Honking Day’.
Barring emergencies, residents have been requested to adhere to the ‘No Honking’ policy from 8 am to 4 pm.
The Tura Traffic Police has also been directed to ensure strict compliance of the order.
The use of sirens by ambulances and fire brigades, however, has been exempted from the purview of the order.
