SHILLONG, June 27: The state government is set to implement some projects to boost urban mobility and civic amenities in the city. The projects include traffic decongestion in Shillong, provision for safe drinking water, skywalk and leisure parks in the city and elsewhere across the state.
Disclosing the development, Cabinet Minister and MDA 2.0 spokesperson, Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday said, “The Urban Affairs Department gave an exhaustive presentation on certain plans and programmes that are in the pipeline to improve mobility in cities and towns across the state.”
She said the presentation by the department was meant to familiarise the Cabinet with some of the plans that are in the pipeline.
A second meeting will be held where the plans would be finalised, she added.
