Fatal car accident in Mumbai: Elderly man killed, driver arrested

Shillong, June 28: A tragic incident occurred in Mumbai’s Mulund area, resulting in the death of a 75-year-old man, Tukaram Sawant, who was walking on the road when he was struck by a speeding car. Another person riding a scooter was also injured and received medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

The driver of the car, identified as 22-year-old Aamresh Mahendra Yadav, was apprehended by authorities. A case has been registered against Yadav under Sections 279, 304(A), 337, 338 of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicle Act. Yadav had fled the scene after abandoning the vehicle.

In a separate incident on Tuesday, a car collision on the Jaipur-Kota highway in Rajasthan’s Bundi district claimed the life of a 45-year-old man from Mumbai. Additionally, three others sustained injuries when their car was struck from behind by a truck near Talabgaun, under the Hindoli police station, in the morning.
