SHILLONG, June 30: Following the order of the High Court of Meghalaya to get the debris from the road alongside the PA Sangma Stadium cleared, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday informed that the work has been done.
“This is an executive area and from the executive point of view, the Government of Meghalaya has already removed (the debris). All the actions to remove the debris have already been done and as the preliminary reports also have come in, which say that there has been no damage to the structure,” said the chief minister.
It may be mentioned that the High Court of Meghalaya had directed the Chairman of the Hindustan Steel Works Construction Limited to indicate the contractual specifications that may not have been followed in the construction of the PA Sangma Sports Complex in Tura and to also indicate the period of warranty during which the contractor is required to set right if anything is found remiss.
It had also directed the state government to clear the debris from the road alongside the PA Sangma Stadium in Tura.
