Warning against black films, illegal sirens on vehicles

SHILLONG, June 30: East Khasi Hills Police has issued a stern warning against those who use black films as well as illegal sirens on vehicles.
In a statement here, the police, while informing that various complaints have been received in this regard, have asked the owners who use black films and illegal sirens on their vehicles to immediately remove the same.
“It has come to the observation of the district police that many vehicles are seen using black  films thereby violating the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India passed vide WP (C) No. 265 of 2011 whereby, the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has prohibited using of black films of any percentage Visual Light Transmission (VLT) on the safety glasses, windscreens (front and rear) and side glasses,” the police said, adding that strict action will be taken on violators as per law.
