JOWAI, July 6: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Thursday took stock of the healthcare scenario and reviewed the progress of ongoing projects in West and East Jaintia Hills districts at a zonal meeting with the different departments of the two districts.
The Health minister met the MLAs — Wailadmiki Shylla of Jowai, Nujorki Sungoh of Mowkaiaw, Lahkmen Rymbui of Amlarem, and Santa Mary Shylla of Sutnga-Saipung — as well as the respective medical officers of both the districts. She interacted with the health officials to understand the current state of health sector in the districts and to discuss possible solutions. She also interacted with the ASHAs.
In a bid to understand the progress of different ongoing projects in the districts, Lyngdoh had a meeting with the officers of Agriculture and Horticulture, and Research officer, District & Local Research Station and Laboratory, of both the districts. The officers presented the schemes related to agriculture, horticulture and research highlighting the work done and the outcome.
