SHILLONG, July 7: The North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy (NEIAH) has clarified that the institute has not appointed any person from Uttar Pradesh as attendant on a contractual basis.
NEIAH Director, Dr. Neeta Mahesekar on Friday said employment of local youths and talents is a priority for the institute.
“We are confident that by providing these opportunities, we can contribute to the socio-economic development of the state and create a positive ripple effect that extends beyond our organisation,” she said.
Earlier, the KSU Shillong Mihngi Circle had asked NEIAH to terminate the appointment of a contractual attendant from Uttar Pradesh hired by the institute.
President of the circle, Sonstar Nongkhlaw had said that the union met the NEIAH authority after receiving information that the Director has recently appointed one person from Uttar Pradesh on a contractual basis.
The union had asked the Director to appoint local indigenous people for all contractual works in the institute and had warned against regularising the services of contractual workers from outside the state.
