Vehicle catches fire on NH-6

Nongpoh, July 7: A vehicle bearing registration number No WB 57 B 1028 subsequently caught fire on Friday after an accident that resulted in damage to its oil tank.
The oil tank of the ill-fated vehicle, loaded with iron rods, developed a leak.
According to sources, the driver and helper of the vehicle had gone to buy vegetables when the fire broke out. Fortunately, prompt action was taken, and with the assistance of a fire tender, the fire was successfully extinguished.
The owner of the vehicle was instructed to arrange for another vehicle to facilitate the unloading of the iron rods. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the fire, informed the sources.
