Shillong, July 9: Bollywood actress Kajol has been making headlines, but not for her recent shows like ‘Lust Stories 2’ or ‘The Trial’. She recently made a generic comment about how India is governed by political leaders with no educational background, sparking online criticism. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi also tweeted against Kajol’s statement.

In response to the backlash, Kajol took to Twitter to clarify her statement. She stated that her intention was not to demean any political leaders and that she was merely emphasizing the importance of education. She also acknowledged that there are great leaders who are guiding the country on the right path.

In an interview with The Quint, Kajol discussed women empowerment in India and commented on the slow pace of change in the country due to deep-rooted traditions and thought processes. She expressed her opinion that political leaders without an educational background contribute to this slow progress, as education provides different viewpoints.

As per India Today, on the professional front, Kajol recently appeared in the Netflix anthology ‘Lust Stories 2’ and is now eagerly anticipating the release of the Disney+ Hotstar series ‘The Trial’. The show, also featuring Sheeba Chaddha, Alyy Khan, and Kubbra Sait, is scheduled to premiere on July 14.
