SHILLONG, July 13: The Meghalaya NCC Festival came to an end with a grand programme at the North East Hill University (NEHU) Shillong on Wednesday.
The event, which aimed at personality development of the college-going senior NCC cadets, saw a thrilling contest in all events between colleges of Meghalaya with St. Edmund’s College Shillong emerging as the winners of the Meghalaya NCC Festival. Cadets Pragati Pradhan and Vivian Alexander Lyngdoh Nonglait were declared as ‘Best Cadet’ in the Girls and Boys category respectively.
Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma, who was the chief guest of the occasion, lauded the NCC for its role in unity and bonding people all over India.
Events akin to those at the Services Selection Board, which aspiring cadets face to become Armed Forces Officers, were held to give an insight to cadets.
Adviser to Meghalaya government HM Shangpliang was the guest of honor. Others who were present include Additional Director General of NCC Directorate North Easter Region, Major General Gagan Deep along with other senior military officials of Shillong.
