SHILLONG, July 17: Amidst a hunger strike called by ACHIK to demand a Winter Capital in Tura, the Hynniewtrep National Youth Front on Monday said the demand was unreasonable and not acceptable.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, HNYF president Sadon Blah said, “Considering the fact that Meghalaya is a small state, this idea of having a Winter Capital (in Tura) is not acceptable.”
Blah added that the whole of India is being managed from Delhi without any other capital and the demand for Tura as the Winter Capital of Meghalaya is attempt to create mistrust and misunderstanding among the tribals in the state.
