Shillong, July 18: Shyalan Shah, a 19-year-old Indian American, has been reported missing from his home in New Jersey since the morning of July 15. The concerned parents, Rich and Kalpana Shah, have reached out online for assistance in locating their son.

Last seen in the area of Linda Lane and Westgate Drive in Edison, New Jersey, Shah is described as an “Indian male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 140 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.” According to the Edison Police Department, he left the area on foot.

In a heartfelt message posted on Facebook, the worried parents asked for the public’s help in finding their son. They urged anyone with information about Shay’s whereabouts to contact them or their other son, Sahil, as they haven’t heard from him and are eager to get in touch.

IANS reported, community members on social media have been actively sharing the appeal, rallying together to support the efforts to locate the missing boy. A verified Twitter user also posted on behalf of Shay’s father, sharing that Shaylan was last seen at Newark Penn Station on Saturday morning around 11 a.m. However, they currently do not know where he might be heading.

The family remains concerned about Shay’s well-being and appreciates any ongoing support in finding him.

This unfortunate incident echoes a similar case earlier in the year, where another Indian-American teenager, Tanvi Marupally, went missing from her high school in Arkansas. After an exhaustive two-month search, she was located safe in Florida on March 29.

As the search for Shyalan Shah continues, the family hopes for a safe reunion and is grateful for the support and help from the community and online platforms.
