Shillong, July 24: Seema Haider, along with her four children, illegally crossed over to India via Nepal in May to live with her Indian lover, Sachin Meena. However, she came under the police radar and was apprehended on July 4 on suspicions of being a Pakistani spy.
During the investigation, the police recovered Seema Haider’s passport, Pakistani ID card, and her children’s passports. To ascertain her nationality, all these documents have been sent to the Pakistan embassy in Delhi for verification.
The police are also awaiting a forensic report of Seema Haider’s mobile phone. In an interview with India Today, she claimed that she had not deleted any data from her phone. The confiscated mobile has been sent to a forensic lab in Ghaziabad for further investigation.
Until the forensic report is received and Seema Haider’s identity is confirmed by Pakistan, the investigation will continue. Only after these confirmations will a chargesheet be prepared in connection with the case.
