TURA, Aug 1: GHADC MDC from Rongrong, Rinaldo K Sangma on Tuesday said that the recent corrigendum notices of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission with regard to recruitment against certain posts showed that the roster reservation system is not being properly implemented as directed by the High Court of Meghalaya.
A complaint in this regard was submitted on the same day to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma by the MDC.
“It is appalling to see that most posts which were allotted to the Garo category rectified via a corrigendum on September 14 last after the judgment order of the High Court’s direction has been altered and the number of posts for the Garo category has been reduced,” Rinaldo said.
According to the MDC, the corrigendum rectified the recruitment to the post of LD Assistant in the Meghalaya Secretariat for Garo category to 43 posts but the recent re-noticed corrigendum advertised on July 28 stated that the number of posts meant for Garo category has been reduced from 43 to 39.
“On what grounds have the advertisements been changed? Whether a new Roster Reservation office memorandum prescribing for prospective implementation has been notified? This is a sheer deprivation to our entitlements and utter disregard to the directions of the High Court,” Rinaldo asked.
The Rongrong MDC, on behalf of the Garo community, has urged the Chief Minister to intervene and make needed corrections in the interest of all.
