Quiz to celebrate 127 years of Assam Club

SHILLONG, Aug 1: As part of the commemoration of its 127-year-long journey, Assam Club, a socio-cultural-sports organisation, organised an All Shillong Inter-School Quiz competition on the club premises at Laban on Saturday.
Altogether 12 schools participated in the preliminary round, while six of them made it to the final round.
Quiz master Rahul Chatterjee, a noted academician, conducted the quiz in a very interactive way and the teams participated with great enthusiasm answering the questions skillfully.
The team from BK Bajoria School comprising Ansh Jha and Saket Mishra emerged as winners. St. Edmund’s School (Namedonhi W Lyngdoh and David B.C Gatphoh) and St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School (Fyodor Marbaniang Swer and Jabez C Gangte) won the second and third prize respectively.
The inaugural function was attended by Managing Director of Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank, Osman E J Nongbri, as the chief guest.
On the occasion, Assam Club also felicitated two educationists – Subhas Chandra Saha, former Principal of Laban Assamese Higher Secondary School, and Minaram Bora, Principal of Shillong Vidyalaya Secondary School.
