State Education commission sets ball rolling with maiden meeting

SHILLONG, Aug 3: The Meghalaya State Education Commission got off to an official start with its maiden meeting followed by the inauguration of its office by Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Thursday.
“With the vision to bring reforms in the education sector, we made the decision to constitute the Meghalaya State Education Commission to give direction and to align our development goals with the future of our youth at the focal point,” Sangma said after attending the meeting and inaugurating the office.
The education sector is beset with challenges but the government is positive that the Commission, comprising the best minds, would be able to work out practical solutions to overcome these challenges, the CM added.
