Catholic body hands Guv letter to Prez seeking peace in Manipur

SHILLONG, Aug 8: The Catholic Association of Shillong, on Tuesday, called on Governor Phagu Chauhan at Raj Bhavan here and handed over a memorandum addressed to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, requesting her immediate intervention in restoring peace and harmony in violence-hit Manipur.
The delegation was led by CAS president JA Lyngdoh, vice presidents Ronnie V Lyngdoh, Kiltiora Marbaniang and Richard Kahit, general secretary Barnabas Nongbah and representatives from the youth and women folk.
The memorandum was adopted at the peace rally organized by the Catholic Association of Shillong in collaboration with the Meghalaya Church Leaders Forum (MCLF) and the Khasi and Jaintia Christian Leaders Forum (KJCLF) on August 5.
