NCC cadets for Delhi R-Day camp feted

SHILLONG, Aug 10: Governor Phagu Chauhan on Thursday felicitated NCC cadets of Shillong Group who represented the Northeastern Directorate in the Republic Camp 2023 at New Delhi. In his speech, the Governor appreciated the cadets for their brilliant performance and said that participating in the Republic Day Camp is the pinnacle of a cadet’s training as the camp provides opportunity to showcase their talents and exposes them to the rich culture and traditions of other states of our nation through various activities. Pointing out that as the youth of the nation, the NCC cadets represent the ‘Amrit generation’, which will take the nation to new heights in the coming 25 years and create a ‘Viksit’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar’ Bharat. According to him this is the time of new opportunities for the youth of India, as it is evident that India’s time has arrived. “When the country is brimming with the energy and enthusiasm of the youth, the priorities will always be its young people”, the youth of India are its biggest beneficiaries, he added. The Republic Day Camp is the culmination of all NCC training activities of the year where a total of 1,800 cadets from all over the country participated. There were 120 cadets from NER directorate, out of which 13 cadets were from Shillong Group. The fact that the cadets were selected from out 1 lakh candidates from across the state bears testimonies to their exceptional qualities.
