NYK holds Yuwa Utsav on ‘Panch Pran’

NONGSTOIN, Aug 12: Nehru Yuwa Kendra (NYK), Sangathan under Ministry of the Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India organised a district level Yuwa Utsav on the theme Panch Pran at Khad Sawphra College, Mairang, on Saturday.
Youths from different school and colleges of the district participated in the event.
Panch Pran has five main objectives – the goal of developed India, to remove the colonial mindset, to take pride in our heritage and legacy, national unity and solidarity and a sense of duty among the citizens.
ADC, Eastern West Khasi Hills and chief guest of the programme A. Nongbri hailed the district NYK for organising the programme and working with the youths of the area throughout these years.
The main components of this year’s competition includes, talent hunt for painting, poem writing, photography, declamation talent hunt and cultural festivals where winners from the district level will get a chance to participate at the state level.
