Dhemaji remains the worst affected district in terms of population with as many as 31,087 people bearing the brunt of floodwaters followed by Sivasagar district where 29,383 persons have been affected.

While there are no reports of any breach in embankments in the state, three embankments at Nazira in Sivasagar and one dyke at Teok in Jorhat have been affected by heavy rainfall and floods.

There are reports of erosion in villages at Palashbari (Kamrup district), Dotma (Kokrajhar district) and Chariduar (Sonitpur district).

As on Monday, seven relief camps and 20 relief distribution centres were catering to the flood affected people with the Upper Assam district of Sivasagar alone housing 1329 inmates in the relief camps. Besides, 14 medical teams have been deployed in the district to take care of any medical emergency in the flood-prone areas.

According to the CWC bulletin issued at 8am on Monday, the rivers Beki (Road Bridge), Disang (Nanglamuraghat) and Brahmaputra (in Dhubri; Tezpur and Neamatighat in Jorhat) were flowing above danger level.
