Course on A’chik Folk Art

TURA, Aug 13: The new session for the certificate course on A’chik Folk Art at Don Bosco College, Tura, was inaugurated recently. The course is being run jointly by English and Garo departments under the auspices of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college.
Prof Dwijen Sharma, Head of Department of English, NEHU, Tura Campus, who was the chief guest, spoke about folk art in general and encouraged those present not only to take up activities but also work towards sustaining them.
The Principal, Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, congratulated the concerned departments for their dedication towards preservation and dissemination of A’chik Folk Art. He assured his full support and cooperation for the course.
Earlier, coordinator of the course, Dr. Colnat B. Marak, in his introductory speech, explained about the purpose and syllabus of the course.
