Shillong, August 21: The 14th edition of the International Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) was illuminated by the presence of actors Sunny Leone, Anurag Kashyap, and Rahul Bhat, showcasing their film ‘Kennedy’.
The festival’s closing night turned into a glamorous affair, drawing both Indian and Australian audiences together to witness the culmination of this cinematic celebration.
Sunny Leone expressed her gratitude at the closing night, stating, “First of all, I’m grateful to be here. It really means a lot when we can present films to every community, and Melbourne is one very important stop for us for Kennedy. And we are so proud to be part of IFFM and for creating this platform.”
As per IANS, the lead duo of ‘Kennedy’, Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhat, took center stage, delivering exceptional performances that captivated the audience both on and off the screen.
‘Kennedy’ continues to leave an unforgettable impression on the world of cinema. The film had its World Premiere at Cannes and has been capturing hearts ever since.
The 2023 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne marked one of the grandest editions yet, featuring luminaries from Indian cinema like Rani Mukerji, Mrunal Thakur, Kartik Aaryan, Prithvi Konanur, the team of ‘Sita Ramam’, and Karan Johar. The festival showcased over 100 films in 22 languages, introducing diverse stories and talents to Australian audiences.
Directed by Anurag Kashyap and starring Rahul Bhatt, ‘Kennedy’ is a neo-noir thriller, marking their third collaboration after ‘Ugly’ (2013) and ‘Dobaaraa’ (2022). The film follows the tale of Kennedy, an insomniac former cop presumed dead for years, who secretly operates for a corrupt system and embarks on a search for redemption.
Premiering at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival on May 24, ‘Kennedy’ has also been featured at the 2023 Sydney Film Festival and the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
