Shillong, August 23: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan shared heartfelt lines about Chandrayaan-3 and the Lander Vikram connecting with “chanda mama” (the moon’s maternal uncle) on a recent episode of the quiz-based reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ Season 15.

As per IANS, during the episode, Big B welcomed contestant Kunal Sinh Dodia and, before commencing the game, extended his best wishes for Chandrayaan-3. He said, “Tomorrow evening, when the moon rises, the soil of that moon will bear the imprint of our nation’s feet. Tomorrow, our Chandrayaan-3 will reach the home of our maternal uncle, that is, Chanda maama.”

He continued, “Tomorrow, the moon of our childhood stories, the moon of a lover’s face, and the moon of fasting and festivals will be present in our country’s achievement.”

Highlighting the significance of this achievement, Big B stated, “This achievement is a message for every citizen of this country that our nation has taken a step forward, and now it’s our turn to do something as well.”

Following this touching message, the show continued, featuring another contestant, Yogesh Kalra, who had served in the Indian Army for 22 years. Amitabh Bachchan also shared insights into his role as the brand ambassador for polio eradication, explaining how his iconic “angry young man” image was leveraged to boost the polio campaign’s effectiveness.

Reflecting on the campaign, Bachchan recalled, “When we began the campaign, the response wasn’t great, as people had various misconceptions about the drops. My creative director, Piyush Pande, advised that instead of requesting people, I should channel my on-screen angry persona to bring life to the campaign. He suggested that I use my image as the angry young man to create impact”.
