Meghalaya karatekas shine in Delhi, bag 10 medals

SHILLONG, Aug 23: Ten karatekas from the state won medals in the recently concluded 17th All Independence Cup International Karate Championship 2023 held in New Delhifrom the 11th till the 13th of August 2023.The tounament was organised by the Seikokai Karate India in collaboration with Karate India Organisations (KIO). a total of 21 karatekas particpated from Meghalaya. Meghalay won 1 gold medal 2 silver medals and 7 bronze medals. The medal winners are:- 1- Tanya Kumari (Gold) – 20 kg Sub Junior girls Kumite 2- Pynoihnam Myrboh (silver) 30 kg Sub Junior boys Kumite 3- Bashanskhemkupar Nongkhlaw- (Silver) 35 kg Sub Junior boys Kumite 4- Alfinia Warjri (Bronze) 25kg Sub Junior girls Kumite 5- Edaka Warjri (Bronze) 20 kg Sub Junior girls Kumite 6- Sesilia Dkhar (Bronze) 45 kg Sub Junior girls Kumite 7- Rijanai Ryndong (Bronze) 47 kg Junior girls Kumite 8- Daomanmi Mynsong (Bronze) 30 kg Sub Junior boys Kumite 9- Bansahnam Nongbet (bronze) 35 Kg Sub jubior boys Kumite 10-Kyrshanbor R. Songthiang (bronze) 61kg Junir boys Kumite.
