Shillong, August 27: Global cybersecurity firm Fortinet is said to have undertaken staff reductions in departments connected to sales, business development, and channel partners.

As of June 30, the company had around 13,677 employees and contractors. Impacted employees took to LinkedIn to discuss the layoffs, with some acknowledging the challenging situation.

As per IANS, a channel development specialist, Noah Herman, confirmed the layoff and recognized the company’s perspective. Affected roles reportedly included positions such as the “manager of SMB development for U.S. sales,” a “partner development specialist,” a “business development representative,” and a “channel marketing manager for national accounts.” The company is yet to comment on the situation.

This move follows Fortinet’s recent announcement of lower-than-expected earnings for the quarter ending June 30, leading to a decline in its stock value.
