Power cuts out of the blue
So what exactly happens to the MeECL? Load-shedding had become a thing of the past but like aftershocks, they keep coming back out of the blue.
On two nights, specifically Thursday and Friday, the power was unmistakably cut at 12 am and restored at 2 am. If it was an unexpected disruption owing to the several many reasons it is understood. But what are the chances that a disruption occurred exactly at 12 am which was subsequently resolved at 2 am. And on two days in exact same fashion!
If not load-shedding, then what is this?
But it makes you wonder, what could two days of such an exercise do?
Even the water level of Umiam reservoir, which had once been the talk of the town as largely all of the blame for the power crisis in the state was put on it, is also maintaining a trend of over 3,200 feet since July.
As the public grumble and live with this situation, there is still an official word to come from the government about the withdrawal of load-shedding.
However, it is highly unlikely that we will ever find out what exactly happens at the MeECL.
