From Our Correspondent TURA, Aug 29: Amidst the government’s debacle with regard to the recent MLHP recruitment, the Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) general secretary, Junebirth C Marak on Tuesday raised the issue of growing concern and frustration among the youths of the state, especially from the Garo community even as he blamed the government for lack of attention towards the issue. “It is disheartening to witness the government’s lack of attention to this pressing issue, and the most recent events have simply made things worse. The Garo community, like all other communities, deserves utmost respect and consideration from our government,” Marak said.  Marak pointed out that the recent events however have led to a perception that the government was not taking the concerns of the Garo community seriously which according to him was unacceptable. “We acknowledge the new advertisement of 21 Mid-Level Health Provider positions to be posted at health and wellness sub-centres in Meghalaya through the National Health Mission (NHM). While this step is appreciated, we cannot overlook the fact that this announcement comes after a press statement, but where is the transparency and fairness of the selection procedure,” he added. Marak said that the Chief Minister, Health Minister, and Mission Director must all be held accountable and demanded a thorough investigation into whether proper rules and procedures were followed during the recruitment process for recent recruitment of MLHP.
